It showcases PING's deepest centre of gravity (CG) in a driver to date, alongside a shallower, thinner face, while maintaining the exceptional forgiveness that PING drivers are renowned for. Each model is meticulously designed to cater to a specific player type, with each head profile tailored to deliver optimal launch conditions that align with their individual swing characteristics. Notably, the overall system weight has been reduced by 10 grams, and the standard shaft length is ¼" longer than previous models. This change helps golfers to swing faster, achieving higher-launching and longer drives, all while producing a pleasing, slightly muted sound.
For golfers seeking slice-correction technology, the G440 SFT (Straight Flight) option is the ideal choice. This model features an adjustable 23-gram back weight with two positions (Draw and Draw+), making it available in lofts of 9° and 10.5°.
Free-Hosel Technology
By removing weight from a section of the hosel, PING has effectively redistributed it to lower the CG, resulting in the deepest CG found in a driver to date. This reallocation aligns the CG closer to the force line, yielding greater ball speed, optimal spin rates, and higher launches for longer, straighter drives.
Hotter, Thinner Face
The reduced height of the face allows for a thinner and hotter surface, enhancing ball speed and ensuring consistency across the entire clubface, including the high heel region.
Lighter Overall, Longer Shaft Length
The total system weight reduction of 10 grams, coupled with the standard length of the proprietary ALTA CB Blue shaft at 46 inches (¼" longer than the previous model), facilitates faster swings, leading to increased speed while still maintaining a tight dispersion pattern. For PING Tour 2.0 (Chrome and Black) and stock aftermarket options (Project X Denali Red and Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Black), the standard length is adjusted to 45.50 inches.
CarbonFly Wrap Crown
This feature is consistent across all three models (MAX, LST, SFT) and is designed to save weight, allowing for the lower CG. It also promotes forgiveness while providing a pleasing, muted sound during impact.
Trajectory Tuning 2.0 Adjustable Hosel
The lightweight 8-position hosel offers adjustable lofts (±1.5°) and lie settings (up to 3° flatter than standard), helping players to optimise their ball flight for superior results.
