The G440 driver from PING is meticulously crafted to provide exceptional ball speed through a range of innovations. This includes PING's deepest centre of gravity (CG) ever integrated into a driver and a shallower, thinner clubface. These advancements continue to uphold the outstanding forgiveness typical of PING drivers. Each model is specifically tailored to suit different types of players, with uniquely engineered head profiles aimed at achieving optimal launch conditions that align with individual swing styles. Furthermore, the overall system weight has been optimised to be lighter by 10 grams, and the standard shaft length is now ¼ inch longer than previous iterations, allowing golfers to swing faster for higher launches and longer drives, all while producing a pleasing, subtly muted sound.
The G440 MAX represents the pinnacle of forgiveness and is designed to accommodate the majority of golfers. This model is available in lofts of 9°, 10.5°, and 12°, featuring a three-position adjustable back weight.

Free-Hosel Technology
By reallocating weight from a section of the hosel, PING has pushed mass lower to establish its deepest CG in a driver to date. This alignment closer to the force line significantly boosts ball speed, optimises spin, and enhances launch angles, resulting in longer and straighter drives.
Hotter, Thinner Face
A reduced face height enables a thinner, hotter face for greater ball speed and consistency across the clubface, including the high heel area.
Lighter Overall, Longer Shaft Length
The overall weight of the system is decreased by 10 grams, while the standard length of the proprietary ALTA CB Blue shaft is 46 inches (¼” longer than its predecessor), which assists golfers in achieving increased swing speed and maintaining a tight dispersion pattern. For the PING Tour 2.0 models (in Chrome and Black) and stock aftermarket options (Project X Denali Red and Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Black), the standard length is 45.50 inches.
CarbonFly Wrap Crown
All three models (MAX, LST, SFT) feature a CarbonFly Wrap crown that saves weight, which is then redistributed to lower the CG. This ensures enhanced forgiveness and contributes to a more pleasant sound at impact.
Heavier 3-Position Adjustable Back Weight
A 29-gram back weight present in both the MAX and LST models guarantees forgiveness and can be adjusted to draw, fade, or neutral positions to influence shot shape and trajectory.
Trajectory Tuning 2.0 Adjustable Hosel
The lightweight, eight-position hosel allows for loft adjustments (±1.5°) and lie adjustments (up to 3° flatter than standard) to further refine ball flight for optimal outcomes.
