Clicgear Golf 3.0, 3.5+ & 4.0 Trolley Brake Cable

Replacement ClicGear brake cable. No problems in fitting and works fine.

The cable was tailor made for my cart. Easy to use and once fitted returned functionality as if new

Fitting was easy, just use the inner cable as it looked very difficult to thread the outer sleeve through the main tube. It took me longer to adjust at the brake end than to fit the cable!!

After a sudden snapping of the cable half way around the course, a new brake cable was required. £10 seems a lot for a brake cable but not knowing if it was a standard fit I thought I had better go for the genuine product. In the end I didn’t use the outer protection, just threaded the new cable through the existing sheath on the trolley, then attaching the cable to the brake piece and a quick tightening up of the nut and it was good to go. 10 mins tops. Pretty happy, no more wandering trolley.

I agree with the other reviews that it is easier to just use the inner if the outer cable is intact because it can be difficult to get a new complete cable through the inner tubing of the cart. Tip: grease the new inner cable before threading through the old outer as there will be some small gritty bits along the way. Don't be persuaded to try ordinary bike cable to do the job, its not up to it.

The inner cable is all you need as the outer takes to much time to replace and if the current outer cable is ok then leave it in place. Check that the rest of the brake unit, drum and trigger are ok as mine where worn to the limit. Have subsequently checked a number of other clicgear trolleys and found this to be a weak part of the trolley.

I bought this product after the brake cable on my clic gear 3.5 plus trolley snapped. This came with all the fittings necessary to reconnect the brake cable after removing the old cable. It feels sturdy and is working well. There were no fitting instructions, but I was able to use an instructional video from YouTube created by clic gear to fit the cable.
